| The most impactful individual in the history of Stanford athletics, Chuck Taylor was a player, coach and athletic director at The Farm. Taylor spent over 30 years at Stanford and was one of only two people in history to be a player, coach and athletic director in the Rose Bowl. He was a member of the undefeated (10-0) “Wow Boys” team in 1940 and beat Nebraska in the Rose Bowl. He was Stanford’s head coach from 1951-57 and compiled an overall record of 40-29-2. His 1951 team went 9-2 and played in the ’52 Rose Bowl. Taylor served as Stanford’s athletic director from 1963-71, during which Stanford played in the ’71 and ’72 Rose Bowls. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984. | |||||||||||
